GREAT interview by Richard McManus.

Richard McManus and I worked for a week editing this interview of me

It's a really good interview and I'll be pointing to it - from now on - so I don't have to repeat myself over and over again.

Please feel free to read this, point to this and have fun with this interview.

:-)

[Marc's Voice]

Very good interview indeed. But where's the video? Where's the audio? I want to hear Marc sing!

Thomas Burg: A colleague and student of mine did a brief analysis(PDF, 400KB) of the K-Collector . The latter is an attempt to bring the culture of blogging to corporate settings. The focus is on aggregating topics given by the individual authors in contrast to assigning topics thru a taxonomy or thesaurus. The paper is only available in German ;-)

Brief? It's 44 pages! ;-)

Unfortunately I cannot read German, but considering the very good questions Markus sent us while he was writing this brief, I'm sure it's a very good document. Congratulations.

I must admit I had totally forgot that today is the second anniversary of this weblog. Thanks to Dave for noticing.

Dave: needless to say that you are always welcome here, there's still a few places worth visiting in this area, in late April the weather is nice, it's my birthday, on May 1 Slovenia will enter the EU (something you don't see every day) and we are only 19 Euros away from London.

This guy has built a PC inside a Windows XP box. Cool. I guess Micrsoft could copy the idea and start manufacturing disposable PCs. Why bothering upgrading your OS? You could simply buy a new PC, go home, disconnect the old one. plug in the new one. [via Boing Boing]

New Technorati beta launches. New looks, new features. Go to www.technorati.com to give it a whirl. [Joi Ito's Web]

Very cool.

I've been experimenting in the last two days. I found out how to embed url's in QuickTime movies: now when I say "google" in a movie, I can make google pop-up in a window. Pretty cool.

As far as recording iChat sessions, I had some results with Snapz Pro but I'm not entirely happy yet. Stay tuned. :-)

Video interview. There’s a video interview with me in the latest Mac Developer Journal. Jason Snell interviewed me via iSight.

[inessential.com]

Besides being able to see and listen to Brent for the first time (which is quite cool per se), the idea of doing an interview with iChat and post it to the web is great in its simplicity.

I want to do this too. How was the video recorded? (iChat doesn't save video sessions afaik).

I want to record and publish a video conversation with somebody as soon as possible. Any volunteers out there? My iChat address is "paolovalde".

In perspective RSS+BitTorrent could easily provide bandwidth relief as far as distrubution is concerned. There might be something interesting here....

We were chatting with Matt about marketing, advertising and campaigns. We didn't find the solution to rule the world but came out with a good anti-branding joke.

- Ask any marketing guy "Do you know which is the most recognized brand of the world?".

- In most cases, even from an expert, you will get a "Uh... no".

- "See?"

New Sensor To Reduce 'Friendly Fire' During Combat. The U.S. Army will test these sensors this fall. If the results of the tests are as successful as envision the Sandia team, these radar tags might be carried by every soldier in the future. With several thousands of soldiers on a single battlefield, I'm wondering if this system can work, and in real time. Any comments?

How about friends of friends?

RSS is raging and Dave has outlined a plan to merge RSS and Atom.

I think it would be a good thing for the web, for RSS, for Atom and for syndication technology in general.

As developers of an RSS-based product we are going to support such a merge whatever it will take to make it work.

Let's start by creating a new topic: RSS/Atom .

Google testing a new design.

Google has been testing a new look. ArsTechnica shows you how to check it out.

[Scobleizer: Microsoft Geek Blogger]

Hey... for a few weeks now Google has been looking different on Safari on my Powerbook. It's the usual google on Safari on my G4, it's the usual Google on Firefox on my Powerbook. it's different only in that specific browser on that Mac. I must have gotten the lucky cookie

Btw... I don't particulary like the new design, I wonder how they are going to find this out since they are not even telling me that I'm testing it.
